I've had english blends once or twice for fun but don't really like them. Best smoked after a meal (not before) or it will overpower one's palate. I recommend a small bowl with a longish stem for best smoke. Most other cuts wouldn't work with this much Latakia. I love massive latakia explosions. Still very good. This was not a very complex blend regarding variance in flavor, but it was a good smoke. It is true to its word, but C&D could tinker the blend and do better. All the devotion to Nightcap ought to be transferred to PK, because this is what a deep,rich English ought to taste like. bomb! This is not really shocking seeing as the blend contains 75% latakia. The room note though, will send some running for the door. The heavy metal of pipe tobacco. The strength like the body falls short of medium. Probably would go nice with a good, single malt Scotch. For me, it is sheer heaven and I could smoke it all day. Final thoughts: if you get bored with all the medium strength english blends, and want something a little stronger tasting then pick some of this up and throw it in your rotation for the nights when you feel you just need something extra. Maybe once a week. I initially wondered if I bit off more than I could chew because i did find this very smokey and spicy. I do enjoy a good English, and one with a good balance of Latakia. After smoking this I have since went back to an easier smoking blend an d I felt cheapened by the lighter smoke. Here 10 months later I am finally smoking it. Try it! I smoke this whenever I desire to be entertained within a fast moving panorama of almost familiar sensations that build not to a climax and quiet farewell, but just keep rolling on as a caravan that one has disembarked.
